NEXT WEEK: An “Artist Alley” interview with Ben Nichols from the band Lucero and a review of episode three of season seven.

I’m really happy you were so honest Denise about ur opinion on season 7. I watched the first episode, and hated it. It’s definitely not the same, and it was really boring. I didn’t watch the second episode, but I just saw the promo for the third episode and it’s just awful. The promo is all sexual, and now they are trying to make this show into Gossip Girl or 90210. One Tree Hill was never like that. How many freaking times can they give Naley a infidelity story line also? I’m so freaking tired of them as a couple lately. It always seems to be Haley having to worry whether Nathan is cheating or not. Give Haley a meaty story line. Like a eating disorder or something. Bethany is a fully capable actress, and she would just shine. I’m not happy with the new season thus far, and I really don’t have too much of a desire to watch it.
Denise, while I appreciate your honesty, I feel that as the pod-caster you should focus more on reviewing the events of the episode and not just giving your opinions. I think you need to give the show a little time to develop with these new changes. I think that the writers have done a great job of putting heart into the episodes, and I think that as these new characters get a chance to develop you will see those layers unfold and the heart of the show come through. While Peyton and Lucas aren’t there, there are other main characters there still who are the same. Brooke has had numerous layers unfold to get her where she is today and I think we’ve seen her heart as she has gone through what she has with her mom and trying to establish a family, I think seeing her have that is a great indicator of heart. I think that as the new season unfolds you really will see the same One Tree Hill. While we all miss Peyton and Lucas there are still great stories to be told, I just ask you to recognize that since the characters have changed it’s kind of like a pilot, and it takes them time to develop. If you look back to Season 1 and look at Brooke, she was very sexual and flirtatious, and when you see her now you see how she’s grown, I think that’s part of the journey is seeing the characters develop, and with this new set we will be able to see that change once again.
Denise,I really enjoy the different viewpoints between you & Stephanie but I agree with you for the most part. I just feel like there is a huge hole where Leyton used to be. I miss them tremendously.
I’m still planning on watching the show. I think I now enjoy your podcasts more than the show. I do feel like the heart is gone.
That being said I do like Quinn & Julian but I’m not sure about Alex.
